The bored and the impatient

I thought I could keep up the one-post-a-month momentum.  Alas, it was not to be.  The stress from work is ramping up, though it’s nowhere near the level when I first started blogging.  Still, stress is stress.

Anyway, once Chihayafuru 2 finished, my interest in the spring season anime waned.  I then went on a time-wasting, mind-numbing anime marathon:

Honey & Clover
Honey & Clover II
Ergo Proxy
Claymore

My excuse?  I thought it was good to get better versions of old series.  And what better way to do quality assurance than to watch ’em all episodes?  Let this post be proof of where my time went lol.

I also started rewatching Monster and Moshidora.  Unfortunately these two depress me so I couldn’t get past 5 episodes.  I’m sure I’ll finish the rewatch.  Someday.

I have also been on a manga-reading binge lately.  Aside from Chihayafuru, I have read several chapters of Silver Spoon, Space Brothers , ahead of the anime.  I also read ahead of Claymore back then, but now I have caught up.  It’s an even more excruciating wait than Chihayafuru.  ^_^;

I think that’s it for now with the updates.  There’s actually more I want to say, especially about the summer anime but it will be bedtime soon.  Till next, ja!  🙂

50 Questions Answered

It’s been a long time since I responded to ‘current events’ in the anime blogosphere.  What’s ‘in’ now is the 50 questions post.  So to bring back some more life to this blog I’m posting my own answers to the 50 questions.  I’ve slightly changed some of the questions though.

My Top Anime for 2006: Final Version

Happy New Year everyone!

I found making this list quite difficult…The top five was easy, but listing the rest was quite a recall exercise lol. There were shows I thought didn’t belong in 2006 but did–so I had to do some research. This is my punishment for watching too many shows. I also didn’t bother to look up my ratings on the shows I wrote a review on, as I didn’t give some shows ratings. Another thing is that I decided to include the good shows but still haven’t finished. They are just inserted where they might have been ranked had they ended. As for my unfinished backlog they’ll just get inserted whenever I finish them. Now on to the list.

Honey and Clover II: Episode 10-11

This time I’m just gonna post a few random thoughts. I just can’t bring everything together cohesively anymore. It’s like the dreaded writer’s block. I’ve also been saddled with how to compose my long overdue post on the summer anime. It doesn’t help that tomorrow I’ll be doing overtime again. Another leisurely Sunday afternoon gone. I really hate what I’m coding right now. ‘Verishit.’

Honey and Clover II: Episode 09

Okay, so I was in for another surprise. Kaoru disappeared. Shinobu remembers the conversation they had. Kaoru actually says it to him, how their Dad only cared for Shinobu. And then Kaoru wonders what it would have been like to Shinobu. Now I guess everything has sunk in for Kaoru. I’m guessing that he’s feeling a little empty now, since he got his revenge. I don’t know if others feel it too, but sometimes after acquiring something a feeling of emptiness crops up. Perhaps this is what Kaoru is feeling. After revenge, what next? It actually doesn’t make you live happily ever after, right? And yeah, must be a little tormenting for Shinobu right now, his brother’s words.
